New holiday.

Today is a holiday. Its Todd day-- and I can't complain.

This glimpse of brillance is much better than your long look at mediocrity.

Amsterband's St. Nick

Thursday night was a live show at the DuKum Up. Thursday night was the first live show (in Kirksville) I've been thoroughly excited about in a long time. Thursday night did not let me down. It was kick ass thanks to: the company I was in (Josh, Evan, Maurine, and many other phenomenal friends), the bands that played (Theodore, Please, Please, Please, and Amsterband), and the $5 all you can drink special (hooray for cheap beer).
I could explicate a great deal about the show but I don't believe it could begin to convey what it was all about. You would have just had to have been there (and if you were comment this post!). I'll just say all three bands were amazing. The last band, Amsterband, had us eating out of the palm of their Indie rock and roll hand playing a great mix of original covers and original originals. There was so much energy I don't think it was only the beer leaving me uninhibited and dancing right in front of the stage. My brother (and after some persuasion Maurine) were there with me too, doing their share of foot stomping. Evan tried to teach me to dance, but alas I am hopelessly white and without rhythm therefore he just spun me around and around. I highly encourage you to check out all the bands that played (I have conveniently linked them at the beginning of this post).
Also, I must say, Please, Please, Please holds a special place in my heart and I was blown away by their set. I had my eyes closed the majority of the time, lost in their music. It flows right through you-- from your head, to your finger tips, spiraling through your chest 'til it settles in your tapping toes:

Please, Please, Please

Inferiority.

Last night there was a show at a local bar. We were able to coerce our Swedish friends to go and experience what we Midwesterners do 'round here for fun. It was a good time. The highlight being when, after taking a few sips of Miller Lite, Paul came over to ask me if that beer was, "Low on carbs, or low on alcohol?" Needless to say, the Swedes were not impressed with our beer. I can still here their distinct accents as they said, "disgusting."

Size doesn't matter.

I am utterly amazed by the minute size of Chris Carrabba.
