Shifting Focus

My mood has fluctuated greatly here lately. Highs and lows at each turning corner of the day. I wrote a longer post, very self-reflective and introspective, but I am feeling insecure about it so I decided to shift my focus and write a few things that make me happy right now, and try to hold those close when things seem hope-little:

  1. Riding bicycles with Josh. My brother gave me a bicycle on Thursday in pieces. We were able to use those pieces as well as some from my old, dysfunctional bike to make a wonderful, superbly functional bike which I absolutely love. It is an old school cruiser with fenders and a brown leather seat. Josh is going to cut me personalized vinyl stickers for it at his work. She's the best bicycle ever! I'll take a photograph of her soon!
  2. Taking photographs. There for awhile I was rather jaded by photography. Here lately I've been feeling more inspired to capture the world around me. It is helping me be more present. The above photo is of Miss Heddy V. my loverly friend Maurine's bulldog. I was able to capture it at Red Barn, our local autumnal arts and crafts street fair. The below image is a beautiful echinicea that I came across on a photo walk with Josh the beginning of last week.
  3. Deb Talan's album A Bird Flies Out. This album is holding me close and offers so much comfort during the low times and so much inspiration during the highs.
  4.  Autumn falling. It offers so much wonderful energy. My greatest desire is to bask in this season with my whole heart, enjoying every last image, emotion, and aroma that it has to offer! May it be so!
