My Womanifesto

Bliss Ripple is a catalog of clues— fieldnotes for living into one’s internal bliss. Compiled through the creative works of poet, artist, musician, and mama Maggie A. Bishop, Bliss Ripple explores the idea of resounding joy— how to create it and expand it through living with passionate honesty.

Here you will find poems, songs, and observations written under the influence of inspiration Maggie finds scuttling and searching amidst the varied Missouri landscape with her wonder-son, adventurer Arlo, and her artist-partner and dream confidant Josh (who is also a photographer and music promoter).

This is the question,

After seeing this sign posted tonight on a walk I have been running this question through my head over and over. On this journey of life, our map, our inner compass is a very large variable in where we end up. I am curious, do any of you all have an idea of the map you are using? I'm going to be ruminating on this thought for awhile, and perhaps later on I will be able to post a sketchy answer.
Also, brothers and sisters thank you for the loving support you offered to me in your comment on the previous post. They are near and dear to my heart. This week we are packing, with the hopes of moving over the weekend. I have been thinking of burning a "Packing Playlist," as per Tina's suggestion. Any good songs I should include that will pep us up and keep us going? Tonight while packing we listened to The Ataris: So Long, Astoria.

We'll listen to b-sides and sing along
To anthems of the years gone by
Integrity and honesty will prevail tonight
When it's all over (when it's all over)
One question still remains
Why do so many bands never make it to the radio?

These are a couple albums that give me energy, though some songs certainly more than others (these were my jogging albums, back when I was actually jogging)

Of Montreal - Satanic Panic in the Attack

The Best of the Talking Heads (I like "Life During Wartime" the best, but these are also nice and energy filled: "Love ->," "Found a Job," and "Houses in Motion")

Maybe you will like them too?
