Still so much,

Young and in love. Taken on December 24th, 2006, that Christmas I got a key to Josh's apartment :)

Tonight was a swell night. A Twilight delight night. I'm a little behind the fad (just how I like it, not going with the flow), but I decided for fun to read Twilight. I had been so bogged down with school reading, which is good in its own way, but not very romantic. So, I put my name on the list for Twilight, and got it the first day of my winter break. I finished it about a day and a half later. I must say I did enjoy it. It was a very intriguing story. My imagination ran wild. I wasn't disappointed per say. I admit, it wasn't quite as Bang, Bang as I expected. It was good though.

After I read it I, of course, wanted to see the movie as well. So Josh and I planned a date night, since he's usually busy during the evenings with his music promotion, I made sure to schedule in my time. I sent him a little invitation that I made, for dinner and a movie. I made nummy stuffed acorn squash, black beans, and homemade salsa. It is kind of funny, I just realized as I was typing this how much garlic I used in everything tonight! What a silly coincidence. Dinner was delicious. Then it was off to the movie.

I was curious to see how Josh would respond to the film. As it is, he is twelve years older than me, we are from different generations. At times I am interested in seeing how he handles the differernce in our tastes. He enjoyed the movie! He said it had him nervous the whole time, which I thought was cute.

I enjoyed the movie as well. It was maybe a wee bit over the top for my taste. I tend to favor more subtlety in cinema. I felt that it was done well, it interpreted the literary storyline well. Though, some of the direct quotes from the book seemed a little forced to me. What I truly reveled in was the setting.

I have always been draw to the Pacific Northwest, and with the story set there I was completely enamoured by the scenery that played before me. I kept oohhhing and ahhing over it. I also greatly appreciated the culture portrayed in the film. It seemed more independently minded, as opposed to following the "pop" culture that is predominant today. I appreciated the salad bar scene in the cafeteria, which showed Bella getting some healthy fruits and veggies for her lunch. The music selection was great.

The most delightful aspect of the evening for me was going on a date with my husband. I realized once again, as I do most daily, how incredibly in love I am with him. I still feel the giddiness that is so very evident in the above photograph (taken at about three months into our relationship). I felt so happy, content, and lucky as I sat beside him watching something that was very much my taste, and knowing that he was not resentful for being dragged along. He is so supportive of me in every way. After the show we went outside to find our car covered with about a half inch of solid ice. We are in the midst of a winter ice storm here in Northeast Missouri. And again I was lucky to sit in the warming up car while he scraped the windows, and made funny faces at me as he uncovered me.

Yes, tonight was a true delight. I am a blessed young lady, with a delicious husband (who is my own personal brand of heroin).

Oh no! You got on it!

You seem surprisingly unchanged...hmn...odd...

lol This phenomenon, which I also came to quite late, has changed my life irrevocably and cost me so many nights of lost sleep it's ridiculous.

So, the important question is: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

My bf and I are only 3 years apart and we already have a generation gap! He's Gen X, I'm Gen Y - he was born just at the end of his generation and I actually feel the difference, esp. when I talk with his younger cousins who are more like me.
