Weekend away.
We are getting ready to go away for the weekend. Right now I have mixed feelings about it. It is going to be an adventure, and I'm sure it it going to be very rewarding and lots of fun. On the other hand though, we have been lacking in the Maggie and Josh time here lately and after awhile that can take a toll on me. I feel like what it must feel like to be an infant, when the only place that will do is in a parent's arms. When the world spins too fast the only place that truly consoles me is when I am in Josh's arms, smashed so close to him I can't hardly tell where his heart beat stops and mine starts. They beat together, I believe.
The weekend starts tonight. After Josh gets off work we are packing up and heading to Como. Where we will catch a Ghost in the Machine show. GITM is the band that I want to play at the kickass party we are having before our wedding in October. They have awesome stage presence, loaded with energy, and their music is amazing. The venue is one I've been to once before, and that night I got a little drunk and left my camera in the bathroom, never to be seen again. That will not happen again... I may get a little drunk, but I'm holding on to the camera, even if I have to padlock it to myself.
Saturday we are going to the Golden Coral to celebrate Josh's Gradma's 95th birthday. We've been asked to bring our cameras so I would imagine we'll be taking a lot of pictures. One of the biggest reasons I am looking forward to this weekend is to have the opportunity to shoot more of my lucky film. A roll I was lucky enough to get from Heather Champ. It is a discontinued/expired roll of iso100 color film that Heather bought (250 rolls) on eBay. She decided to start a project with it, sending out 100 rolls to the first 100 people who signed up for the group on flickr and agreed to post some of the images they took with the roll. I'm still working on my roll, but feel excited to see what develops.
Saturday night we are going to a house party where I will meet some of Josh's friends for the first time. Nervousness ensues. Sunday, we will visit Josh's parent's house, like most every other Sunday.
Right now I am getting things all ready for the weekend. Finding shoes to pack at my parent's while doing laundry in their basement... Multitasking. I'm going to go work out for a bit while our clothes dry. Also, apparently our wedding invitations are in transit, I hope I get them soon, I'm excited to see what they look like!
