My Womanifesto

Bliss Ripple is a catalog of clues— fieldnotes for living into one’s internal bliss. Compiled through the creative works of poet, artist, musician, and mama Maggie A. Bishop, Bliss Ripple explores the idea of resounding joy— how to create it and expand it through living with passionate honesty.

Here you will find poems, songs, and observations written under the influence of inspiration Maggie finds scuttling and searching amidst the varied Missouri landscape with her wonder-son, adventurer Arlo, and her artist-partner and dream confidant Josh (who is also a photographer and music promoter).

What is left:

Something artistic tonight, to save my sanity, I clicked some pictures of what if left of our current apartment. A great majority of our stuff is at house we will be renting in Brashear. The living room, as it sits. I call this Josh and Maggie-- minimalists.

Full view of the living room. Sans furniture, except the all important entertainment center where we watched the second season of Weeds last night and tonight, and (my idol) the cd player which currently holds:
#1 Bob Marley & the Wailers Legend
#2 Todd Snider Happy To Be Here
#3 Sublime 40 Oz. To Freedom.
Music carries me. As you can also see, we have created a nest on the floor. A pallet to snuggle on while we watch the tv and to sit on while we eat dinners.

Here are Josh's sockies, which grow from the floor. Every now and then I'll go through the house harvesting them. Also, important bags (cameras) and boxes.

My succulents (a most charming birthday gift from my dear friend) lovez music.

Two glasses of water from dinner earlier. Shoes for my feets.

Me, barely. I'm ready to get where we are going.

The night before Bryan and I moved, the entire apartment was empty except for:

-The mattress for the bed (box springs already packed)

-My tiny little clock radio, which I've had since 1992

-The coffee maker

-Coffee

-All our plants, lined up against the living room wall.

We are in a much smaller place now, but it's cozy and cute, and it's amazing to have the move over with.
