photography Push-button publishing of JPG Magazine.
Every since I was introduced to JPG magazine, via Dooce, Josh and I have been big fans of this independently produced photography magazine. JPG is unique in that it is built by its readers. Photos and stories alike are submitted to the magazine via its website. Both are then voted on by readers, those photos and stories with the most votes in their respective themes are then published in the magazine. JPG bridges the gap between push-button internet publishing and literal newsstand publishing by giving an internet community the means to publish themselves online with the possibility of also being published in print.
On a more personal note, after much prodding and persuading (of the sweetest variety) Josh was convinced to submit some of his work for upcoming Issue 11. The photo he submitted for the theme America is doing quite well and we believe it is on the cusp of being published in the next issue of the magazine. The photo which Josh submitted is a Polaroid dye transfer entitled Analog and does a beautiful job at capturing the essence of America. The voting is still open for this issue, you can find Josh's photo here or by clicking the picture in my sidebar. To those of you who have already voted thank you so much for supporting Josh's art, it means a lot to us.
