My Womanifesto

Bliss Ripple is a catalog of clues— fieldnotes for living into one’s internal bliss. Compiled through the creative works of poet, artist, musician, and mama Maggie A. Bishop, Bliss Ripple explores the idea of resounding joy— how to create it and expand it through living with passionate honesty.

Here you will find poems, songs, and observations written under the influence of inspiration Maggie finds scuttling and searching amidst the varied Missouri landscape with her wonder-son, adventurer Arlo, and her artist-partner and dream confidant Josh (who is also a photographer and music promoter).

100 Things Con't. Etc.

71. My family and I moved household 8 times (that I can remember).
72. Since moving out of the house I, myself have moved 6 times (once was back in with my parent's after my immature marriage and imminent divorce).
73. The idea of home is very important to me.
74. I'm learning what home is where the heart is truly means.
75. I am really a homebody, but am learning how to be okey with 'getting around.'
76. There are weekends that Josh and I leave home, not knowing where we'll be sleeping, or really what we'll be doing.
77. We always find someplace, bed or floor, friend or family, to bed down.
78. Sometimes I feel like a nomad.
79. Sometimes I'm okey with it, sometimes it gets to me.
80. It always alright though, because with Josh beside me I am home and safe.
81. I do adore coming back to our small grey house though.
82. The house we are living in at the moment is rented to us by family.
83. It is also up for sale.
84. Since living here approximately 2.5 months they've called to show the house 3 times.
85. Two times it was actually shown.
86. Today was one of those days.
87. I worry about moving again.
88. I am a bit of a nestling.
89. I'm ready to get where we are going.
90. Not settle down though, just have a bit of concrete.

My ever growing list, one of these days I'll get to 100.

I love your lists! I know how that feels to move and be moved all the time, and to want...to...settle. Once you have kids it gets worse! (the urge to settle)

Hey, Sergio and I rented from family too when we were first married. We bought our first house two years ago. Sometimes I get the itch to move, so I just paint something...a wall, a room, or plan huge remodeling projects:)
