My Womanifesto

Bliss Ripple is a catalog of clues— fieldnotes for living into one’s internal bliss. Compiled through the creative works of poet, artist, musician, and mama Maggie A. Bishop, Bliss Ripple explores the idea of resounding joy— how to create it and expand it through living with passionate honesty.

Here you will find poems, songs, and observations written under the influence of inspiration Maggie finds scuttling and searching amidst the varied Missouri landscape with her wonder-son, adventurer Arlo, and her artist-partner and dream confidant Josh (who is also a photographer and music promoter).

There is nothing wrong with staying in your pajamas.

(Today's picture is brought to you by the cute-nicity of Delilah Fae McKinney. Here you are observing her in her natural habitat of sitting on the recliner with my dad. The look on her face is a result of her being forced to wear a doggy t-shirt that says 'Boho Chic'. This is one of my favorite photographs I was able to take over break.)
I am a bum. I am still in my pajamas, sitting, as my little dog gallops all over the house, sporadically giving in to her mountain goat tendencies and climbing up the furniture. I am also sipping iced sweet tea and trying to forget the fact that I have to go back to school in mere days. Ultimately I think forgetting that will take something stronger than sweet tea.
Today I have done nothing more than catch up on my blog reading and web browsing and listen to music on my personalized Launch.com player.
Alright, I feel extremely dirty to admit this, but the Fall Out Boy song, This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race. . . I love it. I am the worst person in the entire world. But hell. Listen yourself-- you can watch the video(!) I'm in a slump. Obviously. I need some new music. Help me out?
I have been sleeping in so many random beds here lately, I woke this morning (in my own bed) not knowing where I was. It was a strange feeling. Then I fell halfway asleep thinking about Quaker Rice Cakes and how they are comforting, like laying my head on my mom's lap. Yeah, I don't really know either.
I got a ton of bath products for Christmas, so I've decided I need on of these.
Yesterday Maurine and I went to coffee at Java Company. We exchanged Christmas presents, talked about people, and smoked cigarettes. We also decided that we need to drink champagne at least once a week.
